The End - Awards!

Is this it? The day is really here?

I regret to inform you, it has. This is our final blog post!

I'll be honest, I wasn't quite looking forward to blogging at the beginning of the semester, but boy has that changed! Pre-CurrIns547, I was not a fan of blogging for multiple different reasons. However, after having my own experience throughout the semester, I feel differently. It was a lot of fun (still a lot of work, but seriously a ton of fun) and it brought me something new with each post. I found myself excited each time I read our blog assignments, rather than completely dreading it as I would in any other classes. Because of this newfound feeling, I decided to continue with a different blog I created outside of class. So, Candance, if you're reading this - Thank you!

As for awards, here are my own blog nominations:

1. Professionalism: Discovering the Concept of the Writing Process

This category was difficult to decide as I felt I kept my blog fairly personal and relaxed. I wanted to keep a more intimate relationship with my readers as this is something I have witnessed in popular blogs. I personally like blogs like that, so I wanted to reflect this in my own work. In "Discovering the Concept of the Writing Process," though, I feel I took my most professional approach. I didn't mention myself as much as I normally do in my blogs, but, rather, I focused on the process of writing.

2. Design: Online Media and English Arts: My Own Experience

This was one of my first blogs, but I think I preferred this style the most of all my blogs. In popular blogs, I often find myself getting bored or lost when the paragraphs are too long. For this post, I decided to create blocks of reading so that it was easier to follow. I also threw in some pictures to give readers a break from the constant text.

3. Creativity: A Mutimodal Experiment

In this post I linked my multimodal project which took a LOT of creativity. I'm still not completely confident in the work I created, but I'm proud that I was able to finish it and share it on my blog. In addition to the creativity I exhibited in my project, I showed even more in my research and discussion.

4. Civic Engagement: The Modern Tutor

I felt this post was one of my more important ones. I used a lot of my own advice in the post to apply to my writing coach experience. I felt that many of my peers could use these words as well for their own journey.

And the People's Choice Award:

*Drumroll please...*

Clare's "ASTHEWORLDSCRIBBLES"

Clare's blog had a lot of positive qualities that I felt worked very well together to create an effective blog. Every post was very professional as well as informational. The overall appearance was also pleasing, as well. Clare went above and beyond the assignment with every post, so I think it earns some extra recognition!

  2. Hey Olivia!

I removed my first post because I misspelled my own name, clicked "Publish", and now it looks all ominous...

It's so exciting that you've created another blog outside of class that you plan on continuing! Would you be willing to share that blog? I'd love to check it out :) The same goes for your podcasts, poetries and short stories that you mention in "Online Media and English Arts", if you feel like sharing.

Your reflection on making sure to test assignments before giving them to students is SO IMPORTANT! I had the exact same experience with iMovie and ended up recording my voice over PowerPoint and hated it. It will be nice to sample some of the things our peers shared.

Thank you for sticking my blog in your vote and the kind words!

    Clare
